The Highams Park Society arranges talks mainly on local history.
The next talk will be at All Saints Church Hall, E4 9QD at 7pm for 7:30pm and will be entitled ‘The Highams Estate’

On the 6th October 2018 Oona Kelly the librarian at Walthamstow School for Girls gave a talk entitled Waltham Forest Women of WW1. 7 for 7:30pm at All Saints Church Hall, E4 9QD.
On the 10th March 2018 a most interesting talk was given by Roger Torode entitled “By trams, trolleybuses and buses around Highams Park”. The talk was at 7pm for 7:30pm at the Church Hall, All Saints, Church Avenue E4 9QD.
On the 30th September 2017 a talk entitled “Manorial History of Walthamstow” was given by Georgina Green. The talk made reference to Humphry Repton, Highams Park Lake, Woodford County High School for Girls and the White House.
An early talk was given by Peter Lawrence, a retired police officer, entitle ‘The Siege of Highams Park’. He outlined the events which led to the ‘Tottenham Outrage’ in 1909 when a group at anarchists held up a factory payroll in Tottenham and were chased by police through the streets to Highams Park. The chase ended in a cottage, now demolished, which was very near the Royal Oak Public House.
An illustrated talk was given by Joan Francies on the architecture of buildings.
In June 2014 a talk was given on the First World War football team who went to war.
